Trivia.

Dingbot is said to have been inspired by the alien from the movie E.T.
Dingbot can be seen in the movie Aliens, repainted and mounted upside-down on the ceiling, disquised as a smoke detector.
A small robot inspired by Dingbot with missiles instead of arms can be seen in the video-game Alien: Isolation.
Despite the Japanese version OMS-B being renamed to Dingbot for the global market, the robot's sticker still says "MY ROBOT OMS-B".

Personal note.

This Dingbot was the first robot I restored in 2021 through 3D-printing by CAD modelling replacement tires that were 3D-printed from flexible gray rubber filament.
The 3D-models of these replacement tires can be downloaded from the Procyon Robotics Thingiverse account.
The full restoration of Dingbot can be seen in my Robot Restoration YouTube channel.
